Once the sale-purchase documents regarding a building are signed, the fees related to the transaction will be paid at the notary office where the operation is completed. These fees are of several types and represent primarily the notary fee (which is the value of the services provided by the notary by drafting and authenticating the documents), OCPI tabulation fee (which is a fee established by law for registration in the land register of the newly constituted rights) and the tax on the incomes obtained from the sale of the real estates (transaction tax, established by the Romanian Fiscal Code).
The notary fee and the OCPI tabulation fee are due by the buyer and the tax is due by the seller of the property.
